What to Hunt for

Common fish species in the area are Wahoo, Kingfish, Sailfish, Dorado, Yellowfin Tuna, Striped Marlin, Black Marlin, Giant Trevally, Bonito and Skipjack Tuna.

The Tuna fish is known to hang around dolphins which makes it very easy to hunt for it. The Dolphins are protected and should not be victims in the fishing experience.

Mombasa Deep sea fishing is a great excursion to tackle for those who want to fish out for the big fish. Big game fishing is helps in hunting the fish that look out for food further away from the shore.

For one to be sport fishing, then at least a 30m deep drive is important. Most small fish hide near reefs since their food which is small fish species are found there.

Boats, Equipment and Rules

Equipment is of a high standard, Shimano reels and Penn rods with varying weights of line and all boats feature revolving fighting chairs with footrests and all necessary harnesses, flying gaffs, tail ropes, and so forth.

Our boats range from 22 foot (for 2 anglers) rights up to 33-40ft boats which can accommodate 4-6 rods in comfort. All boats are fully equipped with VHF radio and GPS systems. All boats are equipped with life-saving and fire-fighting equipment and bigger boats have marine heads.

Tag-and-Release programs operate on some of our boats. Please enquire at time of booking. All boats abide by International Game Fishing Association (IGFA) Rules.

What is Expected

It is very important to dig deep more information about fishing deeper into the sea before attempting. Anyone who has never done it before may experience motion sickness and one should know how to deal with it. This goes once you get used to it.

Another thing is having an experienced expert in fishing deeper in the sea on-board is something that should never be ignored. Coral spirit team has a team that will take you through the experience for fun and great results.

Learning how to read nature is a great step to achieve great results. For instance if you see dolphins there possibilities that the Tuna may not be that far as they like hanging around together.
